Jobhop Jobhop's blog : Making It Big in 2016 Starts Now!

Jobhop Jobhop's blog

On the 29th January there’s an event in Southend that’s all about making it big in 2016, and Jobhop will be there!

So what does making it big mean?

Does it mean having a fancy yacht, a Bentley car or a big house? It could be, or it could be having the freedom to travel more or having a job you’re passionate about or starting up that coffee shop you always dreamed of, your big will always be different to someone else’s big.

The event is called, “Wanna Be An Entrepreneur” and if you regularly follow the Jobhop blog posts, you’ll know that we encourage an entrepreneurial mindset even if you have no intention of starting up your own business.

The word entrepreneur originated from France and meant “to undertake”  which means to commit and take on, whether that be a start-up business or a new job we would hope you always commit and take it on. As time has gone on the word entrepreneur has been used more to describe someone who starts up businesses, and there has been much discussion about the difference between an entrepreneur and a business owner.

Here at Jobhop we believe an entrepreneur is someone with a mindset of a warrior, where the mission always comes first, they never accept defeat, they never quit, they always keep going. Some people with an entrepreneurial mindset will be risk takers; they are the ones that start up businesses, and they are the ones that people believe describes an entrepreneur. There are many others with an entrepreneurial mindset who are not risk takers because they do not take the risks makes them valuable. Every business needs warriors with an entrepreneurial mindset, who are as passionate about the mission as the original person who started the business.

If you have an entrepreneurial mindset but have no desire to run your own business, that’s ok. You’ve probably heard many people say to you “you should start up your own business” and you’ve probably wondered why you haven’t, it’s because, even though you have an entrepreneurial mindset, you’re not a risk-taker. There’s a name for entrepreneurs who don’t want to start up their own businesses, they’re called intrapreneurs, Richard Branson says he would not have been able to run his business empire without them.

If you’re an intrapreneur in looking for the right company to work for then Jobhop wants to help you to connect with them, so take the first step and join us today. If you’re an intrapreneur or an entrepreneur and can get to Southend then come along on the 29th January, you can Get tickets here
