Safety for Hoppers

  • Never put your telephone number onto your profile
  • Only when you have had correspondence from an employer and you have researched the employer you can give them a telephone number
  • JobHop advises you to set up a separate email address for employers to contact you on
  • If an employer invites you to an interview always research the company/business first
  • Some employers operate from home, for safety reasons never agree to meet them at home. If this is the case then make the appointment in daylight in a public space ie coffee shop.
  • Prior to the interview ask how long it will approximately take then always tell a member of family or a friend the address and time it will be finished. Always arrange that you will ring your friend or family once the interview is over.
  • Where ever possible ask someone to go with you and wait outside.
  • Please do not be alarmed as all employers have to register with JobHop to be able to contact Hoppers. The above are just safety precautions.
