Jobhop Jobhop's blog : Using Periscope To Crowdfund
Could Periscope Help With Crowdfunding?
Prior to the jobhop Kickstarter campaign I'd used Periscope mainly to chit chat but with no real intention. Then prior to starting the Jobhop #Kickstarter I thought I'd use it to get advice from Kickstarter thought leaders, that's how I come across Salvador Briggman from CrowdCrux, he's an absolute must to follow if you're considering doing your own Kickstarter or any other type of crowdfunding. So there I am on Periscope trying to find out as much as possible about doing a Kickstarter, when I thought wouldn't it be nice if I could find someone who was just about to embark on their crowdfunding journey, so off I went trying to find someone. I wasn't able to find anyone so I thought "Ok, I'll let others follow the Jobhop Kickastarter journey." A bit scary but hey I love to scare myself!
So far I've done a few periscopes explaining what happened prior to launch, my feelings on embarking on something so out of my comfort zone, as well as tips and advice that I've received from others, always good to pass on. Now the Periscopes are about what has been happening during the campaign, things like how it's being promoted, the good bits, the not so good bits and the milestones we've reached.
I've had some fantastic viewers, people who want to do their own crowdfund and want some tips, people who want to get involved in the Jobhop Kickstarter, the regulars, some job seekers, in general they've been very well received.
The periscopes will be going all through the Kickstarter campaign, they're not every day, more like every other day, every day might be a tad too much! I want to keep sharing everything that happens, the new supporters, new shout outs, funding amounts, funny things and the not so funny things. I hope Periscoping regularly will raise awareness of the Jobhop KIckstarter, raise awareness of the mission "to make employment human" , gain more supporters , as well as to give a real insight to a Kickstarter campaign journey which in turn will help others to to be brave enough to do one themselves. Of course I could just write about it in a blog post but I believe using Periscope to live stream things happening in real time helps to build relationships quickly and it's great for anyone with questions because they can be answered immediately.
Join us on Kickstarter to be part of the jobhop journey to make employment human.
