The Business Show And Why It’s Good For Job Seekers
The biggest business show is held in London and is appropriately called The Business Show.
The next The Business Show is held on the 13th & 14th May 2015
The Business Show got me thinking, there’s hundreds of businesses exhibiting and over 25,000 people attending, mainly business people looking at ways of improving or expanding, what an opportunity for a job seeker.
Just think of the amazing networking opportunities job seekers have if they go to The Business Show.
This is what a job seeker should do :
- Book free ticket ..yes the ticket is free and that’s the case for many trade fairs
- Check the exhibitor list and circle the ones to target
- Got onto Twitter and start to network with targets
- Follow the shows official hashtag #tbs2015 and start networking, organise a few tweet ups
- Plann out te two days to make sure that all targets are met
- Make sure all online profiles are up to date
- Get some business cards done.. make sure they stand out e.g Professional photo with a tagline “I want to work for you” & all your platforms they can find out "more about me"
- Collect their business cards on the day and make a date to follow them up
- Immediately say on Twitter how great it was to meet them
- Connect on Linkedin asap
- Enterall the contact information into a CRM, data base or excel
- Emailed them immediately after the show
Job seekers have to start thinking of different ways to get in front of employers and going to shows like The Business Show will help.
I would advise you to look at all the trade fairs that are going on in the U.K in your industry, follow the advice above, book your ticket and get yourself along to them.
