What makes them tick?
- They are more technical minded than any other generation
- They enjoy meaningful work
- Social media freedom interests them more than big salaries
- Generation Y DO NOT ever expect to work for just one company
- Employers have to engage Generation Y on social media platforms
- Employers have to market themselves as the preferred employer to attract Gen Y
- Generation Y will be asking why should they work for you?
- Your employer brand will be vital to why they would join you, if it’s bad they wont come near you
- Once you’ve reached them on the social media platforms, then share with them the culture of your company, how innovative it is, its interests and its ethics
- They expect to build relationships with employers & employees to get a feel for the company before applying for a job
