Are you under using Google Plus? Are you on there yet?

Google plus is a dream platform for businesses to use, everything is made to feel effortless.

Originally attracting the technology minded, the serious geeks and digital marketing people, it is now attracting many types of users.

  • Circles

Collect your talent into circles. Google plus gives the employer or recruiter the great opportunity to put different skilled people into particular circles. I could create a circle for engineers, another one for sales people or another one for web developers etc… You could even drill down even more for your circles and instead of just grouping all sales people into one sales circle, you could create a car sales circle, residential home sales, beauty product sales, retail sales etc…

Now you've created your circles you can post a message or push content to your chosen circles. Think how powerful that can be if you were to hold an open day at your business for engineers!

  • Communities

A good place to source from is the communities. Communities like groups on Facebook or groups on Linkedin are where like minded people hang out together, so if I’m looking for a web developer I would join communities which have got together to chat about web development. Once you’re in the community you can start engaging with the targeted candidates.

  • Profiles 

Getting someones contact details on Google Plus is relatively easy just by clicking their about section. Here in this section you can view their introduction, their employment details, links to any blogs they have on the go, links to other social media profiles and down on the right hand side, if they fill it in, their email address and telephone numbers, bingo!

  • Hangouts

This is a great tool to use when you’re recruiting. A hangout is like holding a meeting online, unlike Hangouts on air a hangout is private between you and your invitees.If you’ve selected a few people you could invite them all to a hangout to discuss the job, just to make sure they are serious about taking the next step. You can just do a one to one hangout just like an actual interview if you wish.

  • Hangout on air (HOA) 

Like a hangout but a hangout on air is public, anyone can watch and they’re also recorded to youtube. As an employer or recruiter a Hangout on air is a great way to alert people to the job, to explain what you’re looking for and discuss the interview process.
