Should you be told to appreciate your employees?
Should there be a special day called Employee Appreciation Day?
It seems so and it was in March in case you missed it. Employee appreciation day first arrived in 1995 and it’s always the first Friday of March. Did you forget to appreciate your employees? You better make a note of it for next year.
It seems that employers and managers do forget to appreciate their employees and now Employee appreciation day gives us all a nudge to do things better.
So if you haven’t been appreciating your employees as much as you should, use the month March to make a difference.
5 ways to appreciate your employees:
- Have an employee appreciation lunch
- Have an appreciation awards dinner where your employees are recognised for the many things they do around your company .. e.g who’s the guy that always washes everyones tea cups up at the end of the day? or what about the employee who spent an extra hour out of her own time taking the parcel to a client in the snow
- Send out a thank you letter to each employee
- Have an early day on employee appreciation day
- Get your employees something that they’d love, e.g an ice cream machine, pin ball machine, a snooker table or wii
It’s great to have one day where you can celebrate your employees but ideally they should be rewarded and recognised daily.
