Jobhop Jobhop's blog : A Job Journey From Apprentice To Directors Assistant

Jobhop Jobhop's blog

Here at Jobhop we like to find out about the job journeys people take and today we interview Mitchell Vale from Redcat Partnership Ltd.

Hi Mitchell, for the Jobhop community is it ok if I ask you a few questions?

Mitchell:  Yes of course

Where do you work and what is your job title?

Mitchell: I work at The RedCat Partnership Ltd, we are Health and Safety and Food Safety Consultants and trainers. We also own No8 The Business Rooms which are business and meeting rooms for hire in Norwich. My job title at the company is Director’s Assistant and Trainer.

How did you get your job?

Mitchell: I got my job at RedCat by going through the apprenticeship scheme. Starting as an Office Administrator completing my business and admin NVQ before working my way up through the business.

What is a typical day like for you?

Mitchell: A typical day at RedCat is extremely varied. It can range from training Food Safety/Health and Safety courses to greeting visitors & keeping the companies webpages/social media pages up to date. I've never had 2 days the same whilst working at RedCat.

What is your work environment like?

Mitchell: The work environment at No8/RedCat is very relaxed and a happy environment. Everyone in the building gets along well and we are all willing to help each other out.

Is company culture important to you?

Mitchell: The company culture is extremely important to me. I do not want to work with a company who do not care about the people who work there. It is extremely rewarding working for a company where everyone matters.

Is regular training important to you?

Mitchell: Regular training is extremely important for me. Without training I would not be able to complete my job to a high enough standard. Being a trainer I also need to keep myself up to date on any law/regulation changes as well. This is usually completed through training.

Is regular feedback important to you?

Mitchell: I find regular feedback very helpful because it helps me find ways to improve and better myself rather than getting stuck in my own ways.

Do you socialise with your work colleagues after the working day?

Mitchell: I do social with my work colleagues after the working day but not enough!
