It's true, a digital apprentice can help your business

“If I had $1 left I’d spend it on marketing” Bill Gates famously said, and I completely agree with him, you’d be a fool not to prioritise the marketing.

If you don’t market your business then how does anyone know who you are, what you do and why you do it?

But marketing has changed, some of the traditional marketing methods may still work for your business but there will be many that won’t anymore, you could be wasting your money by still using them. When a traditional marketing method stops working it’s probably the time to start embracing digital marketing, however, there are still many businesses that find it hard to change. Is your business trying hard to hang onto the good ole days?

If you answer yes to any of the following, then  can consider your business as one that is struggling with change.

  • You don’t understand why people tweet pictures of their breakfast
  • What’s the fascination with cuddly animals?
  • You think SEO is a rock band, your favourite rock band of all time was ELO
  • When people talk about periscope, you think they’re talking about an observation apparatus
  • PPC has always stood for pollution, prevention, and control
  • You wonder why everyone now calls the octothorpe a hashtag?

You need to get hip and with it, usually the best way to accomplish that is to hang around with people who are hip and with it. It works, when people want to be more successful they hang around with successful people and the same with people who want to be more positive, hanging around with positive people will help them achieve positivity in their lives.

So where do you find a young, hip, with-it, digitally savvy young person who is willing to hang around with you and your employees?

Meet the digital apprentice; they’re born digital, they communicate in hashtags (octothorpe’s) and can organise a party for 500 people all via Face-Time and a Facebook group, in less than a week.

Even though a digital apprentice is usually naturally fluent in social and digital, what they crave to learn is how to implement their knowledge into the business world, that’s where the apprenticeship training helps. The digital apprentice attends a digital academy regularly where they learn about:

  • Social media platforms
  • Social media policies
  • Community management
  • Collaboration tools
  • Dashboards
  • Websites
  • SEO
  • Online advertising
  • And more!      They then take what they’ve learned at the academy and use it in a business environment.

Because digital apprentices are born digital, the majority of them are fast learners and businesses who take on a digital apprentice start benefitting from results early on.

But it’s not just digital skills businesses benefit from it’s the fresh, new look on things and the energy they bring.

After a while having a digital apprentice about, you’ll understand how important SEO is for your business ( not a rock band after all! ) and you may even enjoy sharing some picture posts of the family pet!
