Jobhop Jobhop's blog : Be An Ethical Hacker And Be In Demand
You could always get a job as an ethical hacker!
An ethical hacker is in demand in todays world especially by big organisations, desperate to keep criminals out of their systems. According to the European Commission, computer crime costs approximately 750 billion euros a year.
As an ethical hacker it’s your job to know computers and networks inside out and to find, then report vulnerabilities before a malicious hacker finds them and brings the company to its knees.
All information reported about weaknesses in the system is then used by the organisation to eliminate all potential threats or attacks and to secure the system until you find another weakness.
Because there’s always been a bit of criticism about the term “ethical hacker” there are other names used, such as intrusion testing, red teaming and penetration testing. However “ethical hacker” is more widely used and whatever name you or the company decide to use to describe what you do they all mean the same thing, which is you’re employed to hack a system. You may find that many large companies employ teams of ethical hackers now.
